DAJUAN WIGGINS

FOUNDER, CEO & ED

Dajuan Wiggins is the Founder, CEO & Executive Director of the Youth Business Initiative (YBI). He strategically built the YBI Team with Business Owners, Managing Members, and Entrepreneurs who can share their business intelligence, professional distinctive competence, and community values with the YBI youth. As a long time resident of Norwalk, CT, he is a neighborhood & community mobilizer working nonstop to increase the level of youth engagement through youth development programs. Dajuan prepares the youth with workforce readiness and business development knowledge, skills, and abilities. He believes the youth and their future of work requires entrepreneur-like tools and skills.

Dajuan served as a Board Member at Serving all Vessels Equally (S.A.V.E), and was a former Community Organizer for Katal in Hartford CT, focusing on mass incarceration and harm reduction. While running the Youth Business Initiative, Dajuan is also a partnered business owner of The Gold Room Lounge located in Norwalk, CT. When he isn’t managing his business ventures, he enjoys spending time with his children, watching sports, and helping others develop their business ideas.

Tristan G. Fields

President of HELP

Tristan G. Fields has worked in education for over 15 years, spanning primary, secondary, and post-secondary education. Currently, he is the Head of KIPP College Prep 9th Grade Academy in the South Bronx and the President of HELP, Inc., a Norwalk non-profit that provides free SAT prep, college tours, and counseling to students and their families in need. Outside of work, Tristan volunteers with his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha, enjoys running, reading, playing music, watching Sci-Fi movies, and spending time with his family, especially his wife, Adriana.

Maya Donald

President of CORNERS Community

Maya Donald, a Stamford, Connecticut native, is a devoted wife and mother of Black men, dedicating her life to advocating, educating, and empowering her community. As a local activist and community organizer, Maya bridges gaps between Black communities and areas facing ongoing injustices. She hosts panel discussions on Black history and highlights women making history, along with creating pop-up shops to showcase local Black businesses in Stamford. Her advocacy extends to her child's school, Hart Magnet School, where she promotes diversity and inclusive programs. Maya actively engages in efforts to mend the relationship between the Black community and the Connecticut Police Department, striving to end unnecessary violence and mistreatment through patient, communicative approaches. She previously served on the Connecticut Bar Association Policing Task Force and now serves on the POST Council Social Justice Advisory Subcommittee. Maya, having lived in Shelton, Connecticut, has organized rallies and events to combat racism within the community. She established support groups for parents and adults to facilitate change and served as Secretary and Executive Leader of the Education Committee at NAACP Valley Chapter. Maya's leadership extends to her role as President of CORNERS Community, furthering her commitment to empowering and uplifting her community.
